Thumbs Up for Shingo Katori and Spiderman

Pete just recently returned from a business trip to Japan.  He was there to update the Spiderman ride at Universal Studios in Osaka.  Ten years ago, he was there to install the ride.  Funny, how time flies.

Pete composed all of the music and sound effects for the Spiderman rides both in Orlando and Osaka.  It is a totally rockin ride!

One of the new improvements to the USJ Spiderman ride is Spiderman's voice.  It used to be a Japanese voice actor, but now...(wait for it, wait for it) (this is for all of our Japanese friends to freak out over)...it is...Shingo Katori!

Shingo Katori of SMAP, is like the Justin Timberlake of Japan (except his lyrics are clean and he doesn't participate in "wardrobe malfunctions").

Pete and a team from Universal met with Shingo in Tokyo to record him reading the Spiderman script.  Shingo is now the new and improved voice of Spiderman at USJ.

Shingo was very down to earth and fun to work with.  He is one super gifted guy!

As I was preparing this post, I couldn't stop laughing.  Not one, but every single picture  has the thumbs up sign in it.  Glad this was Japan and not the Middle East or some regions of Africa, where the "thumbs up" sign is highly offensive.

Thumbs up (the nice, pleasant, positive connotation),

Melissa
