From Uterus to University - The Laundry Can Wait, I'm Making Memories

When I reflect on my childhood, some of my fondest memories are from our family trips to the beach in the summer. Traveling together as a family was always a treat.  For that week or so, my parents would be "all ours" without the stress and pressures of work and home distracting them.  We would swim, build sand castles, watch movies, cookout, go for walks, shop, or just do nothing together.  It did not matter what we did as long as we were together.  It was our time and we loved it!

Pete's family had quite a few summer adventures too.  From trips out west in the trusty camper...

to weekends spent on the house boat on Lake Monona...

Taking our monkeys on adventures and making memories is a tradition that continues on from both of our childhoods.  Whether we are day tripping around Orlando...

Sharing pineapple smoothies

Storming the gates of old forts in Saint Augustine...

Picking cherries in Wisconsin...

Dining with our friends in Japan...

Or playing it up at the beach...

It is always a joy to make memories together.

What about you friends?  Where has life taken you and yours?  Are you staycationers, world explorers, somewhere in between?  Do tell...

 Hugs,

Melissa
