Lavender and Vanilla Soda

Lavender has become quite the darling in our home this past week.  We made lavender bouquets a few days ago and today, we made lavender vanilla soda.  I can not accurately describe the way that this soda tastes.  It is just so unique, you have to try it for yourself.

To make the soda you will need 3 tablespoons of dried lavender leaves or flowers. You can order both on Amazon. We used the leaves.

You will also need sugar (1 cup) or we used agave nectar (1/2 cup),

vanilla (1 teaspoon),

and 1 cup of water.

Bring to a boil and remove from heat.

Let stand for 15 minutes and then strain with a fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth.

You will be left with a gorgeous golden lavender vanilla syrup.

When the syrup has cooled completely, add one tablespoon to an 8 ounce cup of ice, top with sparkling water...

Stir and sip lively.

Your taste buds (or as Little Monkey likes to call them your "taste bugs") will be overjoyed with the goodness of this refreshing drink.

This soda would be lovely for just about any occasion, but for some reason it seems perfect for a bridal shower.

Enjoy!

Hugs,

Melissa
