Tea Time

Anyone who knows me, knows that I LOVE tea.  Hot tea, iced tea, sun tea, Chai Tea, you name it.  What I really like to do is to brew some tea and put in a heaping teaspoon (or two, or four, or sixteen) of honey into it.  I LOVE honey.

This little concoction is a great little way to start your day, or a wonderful afternoon pick-me-up, but it is especially nice if you are feeling under the weather.  It calms, it soothes, it does the laundry, oh wait, it's not that great.

Tea is full of antioxidants which act like little Mr. Clean's and destroy biologically destructive chemical agents floating around inside our bodies.

Honey is especially beneficial for your immune system due it its antioxidant properties too, but wait, there is more.  Honey is nutritious for you.  It is packed with vitamins like B6, thiamin, niacin, riboflavin, pantothentic acid and certain amino acids.  Honey also has minerals including calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc.  Whew!

But here is the BEST part about honey, it beautifies you.  Say what?  Seriously, there are products all over the market for hair care, baby care, and skin care. From sunscreen and hand lotions to facial scrubs and moisturizers, honey's hygroscopic properties keep skin hydrated and fresh and prevent drying. Its natural antioxidant and anti-microbial properties also support the skin's ability to rejuvenate and refresh depleted skin, leaving it feeling silky soft and supple.

So if you will excuse me now,  it is tea time, and then I am going to go dip myself into a vat of honey.

Love,

Melissa
